“ We got several items to share in our group. The food was all very good except for the chicken fried rice. The wontons in chili oil were good but i think the shape of the dumplings made the sauce not stick very well. Overall a great place to get dim sum. My favorite was the choe mein (with beef) and the garlic green beans. They were phenominal ”

“ Stopped at Dan to grab some takeout for my boss and I. They were busy for Monday night, good for them! I was helped by Anne, the manager. She was AMAZING! So sweet and professional!!! Highly recommended the short rib Dan mein. Anne was so gracious to add a half order of pickled cucumber for us to try and kindly added rice for my order of mapo pork. Anne seriously went above and beyond to take care of me and my order. She is the reason I will be returning back to Dan very soon! ”

We stumbled upon Dan Modern Chinese looking for something late night and what a wonderful surprise! We ordered the Dan Mein Short Rib which was so well seasoned and the steak was tender. Amazing dish! The oxtail noodle soup was another pleasant surprise. Cesar presented every course with a smile and kind demeanor. Overall, just a joy of a place where the food was outpaced only by the remarkable service! ”

“ We have really enjoyed Dan Modern! We love the xai long bao especially the pork and spicy pork. The chicken chili oil dumplings are also great if you like a little heat. We can’t get enough of the short rib dan mien and the garlic green beans and order that on every visit. The wait staff have been really attentive even on some busy nights. We went three times this week and aren’t tired of it yet! ”

“ The soup dumplings did not disappoint—nice big portions and cooked perfectly. I was so glad they didn’t rip on the paper (my biggest pet peeve when I order to-go because then the soup just ends up all over the plate instead of inside the dumpling where it belongs). These held up great and tasted amazing. I also got the salt and pepper tofu which was seasoned perfectly, and the scallion pancake… let’s just say I could eat 5,000 pounds of that every single day for the rest of my life. GREAT PRICES. ”

My only complaint is that the chicken we ordered wasn't made with white meat, which is disappointing. But other than that, everything was fine. We'll definitely be back. ”

“ We finally made it to Dan Modern Chinese in the 2nd & PCH shopping complex of Long Beach. They sat us down rather quickly and made sure that we were seated in the area that we requested. We ordered a good selection of appetizers to start off with and were very pleased with the food. They had a good selection of sake as well in which we took advantage of. Special shout out to the manager on duty Jerry. He went over and above to make sure that our visit was above satisfactory. Overall we had a great time and will be back. ”
